Second life to live

Hey!

Some time ago I got this pretty plain T-shirt with a plan to cut it and make a crop top (it's from a second hand shop so I didn't just murder a brand new shirt :P)
I cut off the sleeves and some from the bottom until it was the lenght I wanted.

I turned the shirt inside out and marked the cutting places with a white pencil.

And here is an outfit that I put together with the top :)

Music in my mind

Hey!

I haven't posted for a while because I'm out of ideas...
If you have ANY thoughts about what posts I should do be sure to comment your idea below ;)
I got a new pair of earphones this week because my last ones (the button type) ones didn't work anymore and for a long time I have wanted to own a little bigger pair then just buttons.
I ended up getting the Philips white ones. They cost 18.90 so they where on the cheap side.
So far I have been really enjoying them. They block away any outside noise what's good (unless your mum is trying to speak with you and you must keep taking them off to hear her)

I'll also add a couple of songs I've been listening to recently:

"7/11"- Beyonce
"Uptown Funk"- Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars
"Golden Brown"- The Stranglers
"Ma' Baker"- Bonney M
"Daddy Cool"- Bonney M

(The last three are really old but I figured that someone might like such music so I added them here)

Tom&Jerry

Hey!

I had to cover one of my school books and I got a little inspired by a Tom&Jerry old comic book :P
First my mum helped me to cover the book with some brown paper.
Next I cut out pictures from a comic book. When I had decided on where I'll place them I glued them down and added a little piece of lined paper where I wrote my name and for what the book is.
I was quite pleased wuth the result :)

Poetry out of nowhere

Hey!

I found some old poetry books of my mum's and decided to "borrow" them ;). Yesterday evening I tried to read a little bit and I got so inspired that I wrote a poem out of nowhere. For some reason straight  after Christmas I began to wait for summer to arrive, so the poem was about summer too. I was quite surprised because it turned out to be a poem that I would like and read myself! After that I decided to develop this hobby by reading more poems. And I know that poetry isn't everyone's cup of tea but I suggest you to give it a chance and if you don't like it don't force it.

Memories captured

Hey!

Yesterday I went to a second-hand shop.
I found an old camera (CMEHA-7) and it cost only 5€ so I decided to get it.
I didn't really expect for it to work or anything, just to look cute in my room.
When I came back home, my dad had a look and he told me that it could work if we bought some film. I got very excited :). So my next point on my "To Do" list is to buy some film.
It will be really cool and interesting to actually make pictures with an old camera first time in my entire life! It will also (hopefully) practise me to think more before I make any desisions. Otherwise you might regret your choice later...it's quite strange how I managed to change this post from jolly to deep :D

Have you seen Alaska anywhere?

Hey!

Yet another book post...
This blog isn't a book blog, (although if you can speak Estonian and you'd like to read more about different books, visit www.raamatublogi.blogspot.com) but I figured books are a part of lifestyle and these books I REALLY like. So if you decide to read them, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did! :)

This book is called "Looking For Alaska" (mine is simply in Estonian) by John Green.
If you have read and enjoyed "The Fault In Our Stars" you'll probably like this one too.
What I like about it is the humour and what's special about John Green (besides killing main charachters and making you cry your eyes out) is that he likes to add really deep quotes and poems and the charachters are always really smart teens who know everything about everything.

Candle light on a winter night

Hey!

I needed a present for my friend for already the next day.
My dad wasn't willing to take me to a shop so I had to DIY it.
I decided on cookie cutter candles because they are cute, fearly simple to make and very cheap.

YOU NEED:

an old candle,
candle wicks,
colourful crayons,
a metal bowl,
baking paper,
scissors,
a small bowl,
cookie cutters

HOW TO:

1. Take an old candle and a bit of a crayon in your favourite colour (or your friend's favourite colour)
and put it in a metal bowl, lift the bowl on the oven and melt.

2. Put a piece of baking paper in your other bowl. Set your cookie cutter on the middle and the candle wick in the middle of the cookie cutter.

3. Pour the melted wax into the cutter as a thin layer. When the layer sets, add another, thicker layer.
(Repeat until you have the hight you wish)

4. Let the candles dry.

5. When dry, gently remove it from the cookie cutter.

I got my wax and candle wicks from tea candles.

If you want to create an ombre effect: add just a little of the crayon to the wax for the first layer.
For every next layer add some more crayon to the wax.

TIP: To keep the wick straight, support it with a match.

And the finished product!

Ready for adventures

Hey!

I have always thought that this bag is ugly until some weeks ago.
I felt like I need it desperately in my life.
It's handmade and it's full leather, so it's quite high quality too.
It's worn out but that's what I really like about it.
Only problem is that the strap is a bit too long and therefore a little uncomfortable...
but you can always get it fixed.
Can't wait for the summer and music festivals, it would be so perfect there...
I'm anxious to go on adventures with this bag! :P
(You'll definitely see this bag in the future..)

Maze Runner

Hey!

This September I went to see the film "Maze Runner" that I loved very much.
I decided to also read the book series and today my post is all about the first book " Maze Runner" by David Dashner.
Apparently this book is very similar to the "Hunger Game" series.
It talks about a boy-Thomas who arrives to a strange place with no memory of his past.
Soon he finds out that he is surrounded by a huge maze with about 50 other boys.
Thomas feels immediately an urge to find out all about the maze and how to escape it.
And that's how the adventure starts.

The book is very interesting and easy going.
I personally enjoyed it very much and I will definitely read all the other books from the series.

Inspiration board

Hey!

I decided to gather my style and thoughts on an inspiration board. I put a piece of brown paper on a mirror so that the base would look nice and even. I found some pictures on the internet and printed them out. To make them look older I used a nail file and distressed the edges. I also tore some of them. I went to an antique shop today and got some photos, music notes, an old comic book and  a "Ну погоди" badge that I added to the board along with little wooden figurines and some postage stamps. To top it off, I made some pennants out of music notes and floral paper.
